Heck - I just do my own work because I don't like the quality of work done by the dealer or otherwise. If they'd take as much care of my bike as I do I'd be happy to pay.
Almost without exception every person going to McDonald's today could go to the grocery store, buy the ingredients and prepare a BETTER burger than they are going to buy...Its about TIME and convenience for some and that's their choice to make. My brother-in-law makes probably $300K/year so it would COST him money to do his own wrenching. Just glad a lot of good people paid the price so we have choices!

It's amazing how much time we spend concerned about what others do with their time and money. Everyone has a right to their opinion. Everyone will never agree. With that being said, some stuff I do myself and others I have my Indy do them. It boils down to if I want spend my Saturday wrenching or with the family. In the end the choice is sometimes mines and mostly my wifes!

I have been trying to put pictures up in the new place all year! I'm Glad I bring my bike to my local indy. I am mechanically inept. He is quality and takes good care my scoots (limited and sporty) However, I do all the polishing myself.
It is my farther's running joke that if I there is something wrong I can polish the problem away.
Seriously though, I have done simple mods, slip ons, brakes and oil, but anything more complicated than that and I bring it to the the man. I know it can save me a buck or two, but my bikes condition and my peace of mind mean a lot to me. I know the indy is not going to screw me and he has built a very loyal following by being the best in the biz, he was just invited to this years biker build off in Laconia.
IF your there and caught in the rain check his triumph chopper build out and vote for FTF. Great bunch of guys and build wicked scoots
