Installed my painted inner faring Friday. Sure do like the way it looks! I had debated trying it myself or having an indy do it. It isn't that hard, just takes a little time.(2.5 hrs)
I bought the inner from a member here and picked up the switch cap from the dealer. (new take off) dropped them off at the local Ford dealership and told the guy I was in no hurry. He is a rider also and a pretty cool guy to deal with. He is also the best paint man around here.
The reason for my post is to let those debating swapping out your inner faring know that it is not as bad as I thought. I was concerned about getting all the wiring back right and that is pretty straight forward.
Total cost:
Inner faring $80 shipped
switch cap $30
paint shop $50
Labor free
what color and did you have a hard time matching the color? did you buy Harley paint. Getting ready to do an all over paint job. Thats reason for questions.
Plan on doing the same upon my return to North America and finding a paint shop ! Not sure if midnight pearl or brilliant silver pearl though or even two tone ...will see when I get to that point. Glad to hear you did yours though. cheers.
Big difference between matching black & Glacier Pearl White !! Was only about $100 or so price difference after I sold the old fairing. Perfect match guaranteed !!
