Well I had installed four 6.5" Focal speakers two fairing and two in the lowers with the RF PBR300X4 amp last year on my 09 SG about the same time as now. Went for a ride a couple of weeks ago and all was good when bike parked. Went to go for a ride last Sunday and connected my iPhone and had no sound out of the stereo, tried the radio and nothing. Pulled the seat off and found the inline fuse blown. I thought that was odd but no big deal. Put in a new fuse and it blew as I was trying to put it in. Great I have a short and more than likely in the wiring. Long story short the wiring was fine then I checked the amp and the amp was shorted between the power and ground and basically junk. I pulled the amp off of couse 30 minutes after the store closed. Headed up the the store on Monday and as it turns out I had four days left on the 1 year warranty and they gave me a new amp but said I only had four days of warranty on the new amp as it does not follow the new amp. I really am happy with the way the system sounds and works and am hoping it was just a fluke. All I can say is if I loose another amp I guess I will have to look for a different brand amp just saying.
If you used a Rockford Fosgate install kit your warranty is extended an extra year (2yrs vs 1yr standard). The only catch is you have to save the UPC seal from the install kit as proof. On the other hand, I sure hope these things last longer than a year and yours was just a fluke.

I believe the power connector these amps use is a pretty poor design. The power and ground are right next to each other so, even if one tiny strand of wire touches, your amp is toast (firsthand experience). The really should have the power and ground separated by the remote wire connector.

Nice footprint for 4ch amp not good life expectancy though. I am happy with my 2ch amp but if ever went 4ch the RF was in running. Seen couple guys running JL XD400/4 great gear but curious how they fit it on top of radio. The JL will run 200watt channel bridge 2 ch!
