Needing Help...
Have the Bikertronic Titan Amp, I think its the BT444 and the Hertz 6.5 speakers with the retro kit and Sony head unit.
Everything installed easy but when I hooked up the amp it played for the first couple of miles and then silence! I removed my fairing and retraced my wires....got the hot running to the battery with the inline fuse. I have the negative grounded on the triple tree as per Bikertronic help line...I have the amp remote hooked to the cig lighter....not sure what the deal is...this is my second amp from bikertronic's any help would be great....I guess simple plug and play was to complicated for me! All this is on a 2006 Street Glide....thanks for any input

i have jvc kd-900 with arc amp and hertz speakers. i ran straight to battery for power and ground and radio had power wire for power antenna that turns amp on.need to run good heavy wire for amp needs all the power it can get.i would check ground scrape frame or whatever you are using for ground to make sure it get good contact.then check fuse to amp.does radio play without amp??
I will have to check the ground and redo the amp remote....bikertronic had me running the amp remote to the cig. lighter...The radio plays perfect when I undo the amp....kinda frustrating lol
Some no-brainer things we all forget to check sometimes:
1. In-line amp fuse. Still good? Double check the area of the fuse that's not really visible...I had to replace my in-line amp fuse a few weeks ago, and with the break not in the weakest part of the fuse, it baffled me for an hour until I just swapped that fuse out regardless and then got a better look at it when the amp started working again.
2. Power light on the amp...still showing power to it?
3. Connections into amp...sure you are getting good contact? When you take them out, is it showing a good "bite" from the screw downs?
4. Do you have a bypass switch on the amp that might have somehow tripped to the other setting?
5. Connect everything back up...take a voltmeter to the connection into the amps. Reading power?
6. Have another amp on hand that you can try to see if it works?
7. Your remote is wired to the cig lighter. Cig lighter still working?
8. Check everything else out electrically...alarm, flashers, horn, brake lights, etc. Any of those also not working?
I hate electrical problems. A bear to solve...but usually turns out to be a real easy fix, once you locate the problem.

There's only 3 places to check.
Get the voltmeter out and check the lead (red) power which runs from the + battery (should be 11 - 12 volts. next check the cig lighter, should be the same (11-12 volts), then check the ground. Like you, I installed the ground on the triple-tree, but I couldn't get the amp to turn on, which ended up being the ground. The triple-tree is heavily painted so you either have to remove the paint where the ground screw will be, or find another location. I traced the head unit ground and piggy-backed off of it. Problem solved - for me anyway.
Since yours was working and then shut off, that makes me suspect your ground - which btw might have blown your fuse so check that too. You probably jiggled it when it was moving causing the ground to move some? (There's only a few things that are good when they 'jiggle', and the bike isn't one of them). Check your fuses as well. The one to the cig lighter (accessory) and the lead to the amp.
Hope this helps.
