Land Between the Lakes, as others have mentioned. Stop and have a bite to eat at Pattis 1880 restaurant (http://www.pattis-settlement.com)
You can head north east toward E-Town via Bowling Green and visit the COrvette musuem, or south east toward Ft Campbell and say hello to the 101st (http://www.campbell.army.mil/Pages/CampHome.aspx)
Kentucky is a nice place to visit, a good place to "be from". I'll kill myself before I move back there. Yes, really.

Thank you guys!!! This has been great getting this many ideas. We will probably concentrate on the west side of state. We will be going to check out the land betweeen the lakes. We are going to fly buy the seat of our pants, hopefully find places to stay without reservations. All the ideas sound great but i don't know how much we can get done in a week.
