I recently started to get a periodic misfire, it sounds like just air exiting the cylinder. I doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it usually only happens after staring it cold, and only does it at take off.
It hasn't stalled out the bike until today, got the misfire and it shut off. She started right back up, and never missed again during this ride.
I have no codes, new spark plugs (last month to see if that was my issue) and I haven't done anything to the bike recently. I am looking for suggestions on what to look at.
maybe water in the tank....it could also be that sensor on the front of the motor...**** I can't remember the name right now...but it right near the oil filter and held in with a allen bolt...
Your bike does that just to let you know that it is a Harley!
If it continues you need to start looking for the cause but for now you could add a little bit of Seafoam to your gas.
Just curious, have you had the intake gaskets checked or replaced?
Same for the cam chain adjusters?
I bought my bike used, the previous owner had all his service work documented, and it was done at the dealer. There is no record of anything being done to the intake gaskets & Cam chain tensioners were changed @ 30K, right before I bought the bike.

Crank Position Sensor. It basically tells the ignition when to fire the plugs.
I thought when they went bad they failed completely but not sure.
