I ride a Street Glide an am thinking of getting a rider backrest. Anyone have any comments on what it's like riding with one...good or bad?

thanks much!

Personally I think its the best mod Ive ever put on any bike Ive ever owned. The only draw back I have is it makes it a little harder to get on and off the bike. But after a few rides you get used to it and you dont even notice anymore.

I use the Harley adjustable rider backrest on my '06 SG. I also have a Mustang touring seat, but the backrest had more of an impact on comfort. I thought I would use it only for longer rides, but it's probably there 90% of the time. Highly recommended!

Mustang #79100 on this bike, shown with backrest and chopped TP modified to fit the backrest. It was moved back 1 1/4 in. and that procedure was described on another thread a couple of weeks ago. I don't use a pillion but rather a fender bib. I'll be working on a better photo in the near future.

Haven't done any long trips on it, but early experience tells me it is a winner. Had a Corbin solo on my '96 RK and it was also very comfortable, but stayed away from Corbin this time because of cost ($200+ more) and feedback from Mustang owners.

I have the same seat as you and love it. My backrest stays on all the time.
