I know that Kuryakyn makes some of the highest quality aftermarket parts on the market.
But is it just me or do many of the parts they made look a bit over the top verging on gaudy ?
I like chrome as much as the next guy and in fact I really don't care much at all for the blacked out look so popular today.
But I think that chrome can be overdone, and styled in such as fashion that it detracts from the original look and design of the bike, especially on a Harley. Many of these Kuryakyn parts would look more at home on a Victory instead of a Harley.

I am not sure about "highest quality aftermarket parts on the market". I had some of their stuff two bikes ago and would not put any of their stuff on my current or last bike. I found that the products didn't hold up all that good. And to answer your question IMHO yes some of their stuff does look a bit over the top.
sorry but I have to dissagree. I feel Kuryakyn makes shiny affordable products for people that do not want to spend the high dollars on quality stuff. They are the furthest from high quality. It's more a costume jewelry product, but that just my opinion
Agree with the others on this. Have had some pieces of Kury chrome and they are mostly gone now. The chrome bubbled and pitted quickly and green started showing through the pieces up forward in the wind stream. I had some of their highway pegs and some turn signal bezels and they are gone. About ready to get rid of my license plate frame as I just noticed the other day the chrome is flaking on it too.
I had Kuryakyn adjustable passenger pegs. on one side after 50 miles the pivot bolt came loose and I had to take the whole thing off and loctite it, which lasted 7k before it happened again. On the other side, the failure to design adequate support resulted in the stock grade 8 bolt shearing off, and I lost the whole stock floorboard assembly.
This weekend I am going to put the billet aluminum, triple plated chrome, Made in USA Rivco adjustable pegs. They are gorgeous and high quality. Hopefully they work properly. They are a WI company that makes their products in USA, not China.
