Still waiting for my Indy shop to get their new building finished so I can get my dyno tune done. In the meantime I am running a Fuelmoto map that was developed for Woods 6-6 cams, and is not quite right for my bike. I am running HQ-0034s. My Indy rode my bike and said it felt rich through the midrange and suggested removing a little fuel across the board. I talked to Keith at Fuelmoto and although he didn't ride the bike, he agreed that the map he sent me looked rich just based on the numbers and suggested the same thing.
So I did that. I reduced the fuel values by three from where they were across the board. After doing so, I would get a little bit of a stumble off idle when accelerating from a stop, so I figured it was too lean in that range. I also then got some pinging in fifth gear under load accelerating uphills and whatnot. Not lugging the motor, either. I don't have a tach, so I can't speak to rpms, but I want to try to address the issues.
If it's rich through the midrange, but stumbling and pinging, where do I need to add/subtract fuel. What % throttle and rpms? How much adjustment is a good starting point?
I know this is probably almost impossible to answer over the internet, but just thought I'd ask.
Does the tuner have to be attached to the bike for that to work? I don't have a laptop so I can have the Power Commander hooked to the computer or the bike but not both simultaneously.

Adding fuel's is not going to stop the pinging. The timing map (Ignition) is likely advanced and the only way to stop the pinging is to retard/take away in the areas of the ping. The map given to me by FM was advanced as high as 3-4 degrees which made the ping worse. I slowly removed up to -2 in the higher RPM ranges to stop that damn pinging. Fuel doesn't do anything to pinging, it's timing.
