Default Newbie - Sort of.....

Hi all,

After two years of hanging out here I finally felt I could sign up. I feel like I already know some of you - from the knowledgeable helpful to the smart a$$.

I bought my first bike >30 years ago, took a gal out on a first date on a Yamaha Venture, a month later we were taking road trips, we have been married over 24 years now. Sold it when the kids came along, but vowed to own a Harley some day. That day was the 11th when a dealer (actually the third one I tried) accepted my offer ($3,200 off MSRP) on a Vivid Black 2012 FLHTK.

My first trip to the dealer since buying it has been to pick up a shop manual as I am about ready for my 1,000 mile service and expect to do the 5,000 before I put it away for the winter. This winter should bring a de-catting, Vied's, some creature comforts, a lift table and maybe a color modification

Thanks to everyone for knowledge and humor

Thanks everyone

Kris, I can gladly say I am not a pro sports fan - and thanks for your thread about taking your son for a ride (these bumps are piston me off - I think it was called). I rented a limited in June and took my 10 year old for a ride - two days and 560 miles later she wanted to keep going. I also rented a Road Glide Ultra and did 1100 miles in 3 days - part with the better half and part with my 15 year old.

Yep, maybe ya do kinda know some of us already. Good to hear ya have a suportive group at home. Hope ya get to put some ticks on the clock with it yet this year. Was 37 degrees here Friday morning and while many are not so much in favor of it, I welcome the white stuff as much as I wait for the snow, ice and sand/salt to come off the roads in the spring time.

Let see- don't ask Dicky what he thinks about fairings, don't start a thread about oil, search is your friend and be careful how you word things, some people have dirty minds.

Did I miss anything?

Was 37 degrees here Friday morning
I guess I can't complain, it was 45 when I left home for my 40 mile ride in - both Friday and today.
