Well i installed my Sony mexbt4000p with the biketronics bt1002 and every ting is working great except my AVC does not work, so i was digging around their website and i find a procedure for removing the AVC pin from the harley harness.
Don't mess with the pins. It is probably the module. When I had one, it was finicky. and I had to hold the button down 2 or 3 times longer than the instructions said. Deviate from the instructions some, it will probably work.

I had to do the same. It should work just keep trying...If not Biketronics has excellent customer service.
I had to set mine a few times to get it to sync. Did not seem to be anything wrong with the unit, the procedure seems to be very particular.
On the plus side, if BT even thinks there is anything wrong with their unit they will ship out a new one and wait on you to ship the other one back.
Good luck.
I've had to do this once already, and now my BT1005h is acting up...or rather NOT acting up (handlebar switches are completely NON-Functional with both my DSX-S200X and DSX-S100).
Bear in mind, they DO charge you $50 deposit to ship a new unit to you; it's credited back pretty quickly once they receive your 'bad' unit though. He had to change his methods as too many people were NOT sending back the old units.
