Default High beam problems

I recently (2 months ago at best) changed the headlight bulb on my 08 SG because the high beam went out. Just noticed it is out again. Anyone know what might be going on. Thanks

I had the same issue with my 07. Think the aftermarket and brighter bulbs do not last as long as the Harley issue ones. Higher wattage bulbs also tend to burn out quicker.

Ended buying a Truck-Light LED headlight. Those things are supposed to last forever.

could be a bad ground wire...could also be just a bad road or a bad bulb.

I carry spares when i tour- 'cause lightbulbs don't last forever except for this one:

110 years !
This bulb was lit before the first Harley rolled out of the shed

I have gone thru 4 bulbs since this past November on my 2011 SG. I used to ride with my high beams for safety, they last me around 3000 miles. My dealer said Harley told them that high beams generate too much heat and since the SG’s headlight assembly is not exposed it becomes like an oven in there and then you hit a bump and shatter the element. I ended up buying an HD modulator that pulsates the low beam to be more visible by the cagers. It is OK, but too sensitive to shadows.
