Default Headbolt bridge covers....who uses them?

For those that don't know what they are, they are the do-dad that goes around the sparkplug area to fill in the space and cover the headboltsalso making it look flush like the opposing side of the cylinder.

I put the finned ones on my bike, but I was noticing alot of the people have opted not to put them on thier cylinders.

Anybody else have them, and if not..... why?

EDIT: the reason I pose the question is I got to thinking while I was putting them on. The bolts that secure them are sunk deep inside a hole and if these were to get stripped out OR heat over time cause them to seize it would be a real pain to try to remove.. I thought maybe this could be the reason but wasn't sure.

I have them on mine. My jugs and heads are diamond cut. IMO, it just looks better to have that hole filled in.

I've heard some people leave them off, because covering up the cylinders inhibits the engines ability to bleed heat. Probably would be minimal at best but who knows, every little bit I guess... Don't have them on mine because I was commuting on DC traffic had had some major issues with heat there.

That's total BS, if "people" believe that, why wouldn't they think that more fin area means more heat dissipation? "People" are idiotsthey're strictly cosmetic I LIKE EM

Roger that! I like the chromed ones a lot more than the finned ones. Nobody around here has anything, and it really ties the engine together.

There is a link to another thread about them also.

I have them, and I like them............finishes off the looks of the motor on the left side.
