Like a lot of guys I got the Burkus Saddle Bag secure hardware for my Street Glide. Good idea but I find the actual product sloppy and poorly executed. Not a lot of imagination or engineering in attaching the Burkus threaded clip to the bracket with the OCD spring clips.
Thought their Seat Secure hardware looked like a good idea and ordered that as well. No way to evaluate that product yet since I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Ordered that 10 days ago.
Anyone with an ace hardware can get a crown bolt speed nut and wing bolt to attach saddlebag to mounts.
On the stock system, the pins can spread over time, or a rough washboard road can vibrate them out.
wire can be used to tie them into position or if you are not confident about the pins, easily replaced with speed nuts & wingscrews
crown bolt part numbers 43228 and 66808 respectively and reuse or get new rubber washers.
That's about $9 in hardware at your local ace hardware or big box.
As for "secure", security bits are available everywhere, and can often be levered with a screwdriver jammed against the center pin.
maybe I'm lucky but I've never seen ( or heard about it firsthand) seats or saddlebags taken from a parked bike
I grew up in a time when screwing with a bike meant risking serious harm ( still does...I have a story that ended with me muttering "get the f*** out of here before i beat you in front of your kids...")
We guarantee every product we sell. You are welcome to return the SaddlebagSecure for a complete refund if you are not completely satisfied - no questions asked.

I have them on my ultra...no complaints here. I think the " sloppy and poorly executed" remark is off base. They do exactly what they are supposed to do, and do it well. Im curious as to what engineering you think could be done to make them any different/better than they are....also I received mine in 3 days. Maybe you should have sent an email about the seat hardware prior to bashing them on a public forum which they are active sponsors and posters... Just sayin...
Burkus stands behind their product with no questions asked. I had the seat secure bolt get a little worn. I emailed them and had a new one with a chrome cap sent to me at no charge. Sure I paid for that warranty, but it sure is nice to have a forum supporter / vendor to purchase from.
I have both the saddle bag and seat secure fasteners. Love them both. The saddlebag bolts hold mine tight. I bought them after I dropped the left saddlebag at 65mph. $750 repair. I tossed the factory pins and have no worries at all about the bags now.
Service was great and products were well described.
