i have been reading every post on shocks that i can find, this is where i'm at but still lost. my guess is i can jam a few 2x4's in place of my crappy air shocks and i would be happy.
PROGRESSIVE 944 sound pretty good but me being 200 lbs. and only ride this street glide solo i'm gonna want the lighter springs from what i have read. progressive also has a lifetime warranty.
HARLEY PREMIUM shocks, only thing i cant grasp is you only adjust one for compression. maybe this is fine, just bugs me.
TERRY CABLE not much info out there on them.
OHLINS have been used on many bikes for a long time, was looking at the 2~ #2B as for warranty did not see one posted on howards site.
i have always been able to figure out what to do when it comes to my bikes. i have mono tubes in the front and a little more power thanks to fuel moto but this little shock dilemma make my skull hurt. my guess is ohlins 2~#2b
Legends air ride rides pretty nice for me. I am 250lbs and when I air up to 55 psi soft and coshy when I want them stiff 65psi
I've sent my Legends back twice, it seems as if because of my weight (140lbs) I am not able to any dampning out of them. These are installed on my 2012 SG which is a solo bike. I'm told that for the heavier guys they work great.
A lot of good shocks out there. I didn't want to break the bank so I went with HD Premium shocks on a 20% off sale for $400.
They work great! There is a set of railroad tracks close to my house that is a great test for shocks. The improvement when going over them vs. the stock shocks is amazing! The overall ride is greatly improved too.
There may be better shocks out there, but I certainly don't feel the need to upgrade anymore.

As far as the 944s go the standard spring they come with may work for you. I'm 150 lbs and the're a little stiff so the added 50 lbs should make them decent. Just a thought.
I too was sooooo disappointed and ready to sell my FLHX. My hips and lower back couldn't take it any longer. Since this mod, ZIP, ZERO issues and I still have it lowered and ride weekly.

140lbs? **** I remember when I was in third grade.....:-) on a serous note I can see what your saying. being that light I bet the shocks act as though there is nothing on them. but I bet your bike runs like a raped ape because your like a fly on its back.
