Just picked up the Screemin Eagle shift lite from my local dealer (sorry dont have part # with me). I thought it would be kind of neat to have, and ocassionally usefull. Made by AutoMeter I thought it would be a quality piece, $250.00.
Well, stay away! Cheesey thing. Bolts don't fit, bracket does not fit on lite, and the whole thing is plastic with cheep buttons. Comes with a rain sock which it will really need because if it gets wet its shot. The rain sock is hell to put on and fits like the rest of it, poo.
So just a heads up. If you are looking for a shift lite look elsewhere.
Those kinda things belong on Goldwings not Hogs! Thanks for the heads up though as I saw that thing the other day while I was perusing for parts and was wondering about it. Now we know. Too bad it cost you 250 clams for the experience.
Take it back. Tell them how dissatisfied you are with it. If i were the parts guy i would have tried to talk you out of it to begin with.
+1, use that money on something worth while for your bike. At worst I'd bet you could haggle an exchange for another part or parts out of the deal. Really they should just give you your money back.
