Default Windshield Care

I just got my 8 inch mediaum tint LRS shield 2 weeks ago and have cleaned it once with water only. I know LRS says soap and water only. Isn't there something I can use on this windhield to clean it besides soap and water and will it hurt it to detail spray or wax or something to make the bugs come off easier without runing it?

ask LRS for specifics--- I had a windscreen ruined by a product which I see many riders are happy using.

bugs ? wet a towel and throw it over the windscreen and fairing to soak for exactly 1 beer ( or soda pop).
at that point they are soft and come right off.

a motel towel works best

I use Bug Slide with great results but as Mike said check with the manufacture first. The soap and water just might be CYA for them.

Stuff is pricey but it goes a long way. I keep a can inside a white cotton sock in my saddlebag. Really works great!!

I use Novus #1. but like others have said, if manufacture says soap and water than that is what I would use.

+1 on the Bug Slide. I use it on my LRS shield with no problems. Before I used it I checked with LRS and they said it was ok to use.
