Default Pushrod adjustment Q

As mentioned in another thread, I have a tapping noise after cam swap with FM adjustable pushrods. Going to readjust the pushrods and make sure everything is right.

Before I started, I have a likely simple question. When I fully shorten the pushrod, do the lifters expand to their max immediately or is there a time I should wait (similar to the bleed down time) before adjusting again?

I'd give them 30 minutes or so.

Those are the videos I followed the first time. Since I'm not going to have the pushrods out for an extended period of time, I was just wondering how long it takes for the lifters to spring back up before I can set them to zero lash and start my adjustment.

They expand pretty rapidly. The clacking sound you may hear could be the rocker arm hitting the valve. I have been fighting a sound after cam change and even changed cams and lifters. Some of the cams fall off duration so fast the lifter can't keep the tension on the pushrod. Least this is several engine mechanics response and I can't find anything else it can be. If somebody can help me with this chime in. Mine is most noticable at 2200 -2800 rpms on moderate load.
