A CFR candidate?
So, I got bored....
Had been reading the CFR muffler thread(s), those seem to be loud to me from the video - you tube posts - that I have seen, and from the one time last month at the stealer, were a guy had a set on his street glide......loud indeed.
So, I thought what the heck, what about loudness anyway as I pulled the baffles out of my monster rounds, which by the way, have the wrap removed already..... and i fired it up...waaabaaa, waaabaaa, shizzzzzzam. Yeah, that was LOUDER then the CFR mufflers, Way ....loud.
interestingly enough though, revving the bike up and hearing it blast, also produced an obnoxious grin on my face. Sounded sort of like drag pipes, this was way louder then when i pulled the baffles out of my V$H big shot staggered pipes that were on my 07 FLSTF.
The cam sounds was definitely audible and throaty
Got out of the hood, decided against doing a freeway shot, so i ran it a few miles on the Main Street, passed a few HD riders, and gave them a few rev shots LOL, then headed up a long steep grade hill going back to the house. Loved the growl, and the reversion, as I grabbed gears going up the hill. The engine seemed to be happy in the mid to high RPM range.
Mischievous or not, I thought WTF, can't a guy just screw off a little bit like running open headers when they were back in high school I was telling myself- checking mirrors all the while for the possible LEO that might have been called due to a noise complaint.
I made the hill top, down shifted a few gears enjoying the reverb on each downshift, Pulled in the clutch to idle and coasted down the street partly on the way back to the house to keep the noise down.
Was thinking big city thunder monster baffles perhaps........
Went home....put the baffles back in, noticed the bottom torque came back, but the mid and high did not get there as quick. Oh we'll. I will investigate CFR in more detail.......

My CFR's are very easy on the ears at cruising speeds. Which hood did you roll through? Northeast? Sprague? Freya area? I sometimes roll through those places blaring David Allen Coe Country
Sprague near Fancher, s. hill area.
