Default Baffles removed and fixed

So I know there is always a lot of controversy about removing baffles completely so I thought I would put my experience here so others may see another opinion because when I wanted to do it, it was hard to find a good answer on it. Mostly just speculation from others.

I have a 13 Road Glide and cut the baffles out and removed them. The sound is amazing. I haven't heard a bike with aftermarket mufflers/headers that I like better. It's a deep, throaty, raw sound. You can really hear the Harley coming out of them. I noticed that yes, I lost a TINY bit of torque from the loss of back pressure, but not much for me to notice except when I cranked on the throttle to get it up and moving such as passing someone. But again, barely noticeable. I did however want to correct the problem. NO, this isn't an advertisement. I don't care what you put in your bike. But I bought so baffles from Big City thunder to put in the pipes. I was actually surprised because all it is, is a piece of pipe about 3 inches long with what looks essentially like an electrical lug welded on the inside. I was skeptical about their claim of getting the back pressure back again, but installed them and they work perfectly! The sound has not changed, except now I don't get the back fires and pops anymore, and the torque is definitely back to normal. I think it was more noticeable then I had thought. But now I'm loving the sound and the performance. Some of the questions i had answered on my own? No noticeable loss in MPG, no engine issues or any other kind of damage happened. I had straight pipes with no baffles on for about 6 months and 6-7,000 miles. The only thing I didn't like was the back firing (not very loud, just the popping on decel) and the minimal loss of torque. So if someone out there is contemplating the mod, I say go for it! it worked out well for me. but definitely try to fix the back pressure issue. The Big City Thunder baffles worked perfect for me, but if I were a welder, and knew better, I would have just welded in something like a lug to the inside of the main pipes. Again, just my 2 cents, and something I thought I'd share.

I was contemplating Big City Thunder baffles but having used DK customs in the past I cut mine out and put in W258 Thunder Torque Wave Inserts just past where the tapered opening flattens out and auto tuned with my Power Vision and they work great. Have had them that way for about 4k miles and I get compliments from people asking what brand of slip ons I bought. I didn't care for the raspy harsh sound of no baffles but with the DK lollipops they have a nice deep tone and there is good power on take off and low RPM. I thought no baffles sounded loud but not in a good way.

I thought about Big City Thunder baffles but having used DK TTI's before decided on them. I think a lot of people tend to overlook that stock mufflers are actually expensive slip ons that just have baffles most of us do not like. Using my dremel with cutting wheels it took me under an hour to remove the stock baffles and put in the lollipops. I did leave in the metal mesh though to help add some resistance as the exhaust is funneled back in from the TTI's.

I also left the mesh in, for no other reason than not really seeing how to remove it anyway ;-) Sounds like what you have is pretty much the same as the BCT ones. I was just impressed by how so little did so much. Now to just get better intake and remap the thing.

I had Big City Thunder baffles in my 2000 Heritage, I put them in Screaming Eagle 2 pipes, they were awesome to say the least, I actually gained mid range power with them(noticeable) good people to work with too, I dealt with a woman on the phone(forgot name) she was awesome and really cool.....................
