Default Bluetooth audio streaming

Currently have a Sony DSX-MS60 DMR Head Unit with the Tune Tray. It is kinda finicky at times and I don't like having to take my iPod out all the time.

So I was thinking of another route. I am considering a head unit with bluetooth audio streaming. I was thinking I could mount the iPod in either my saddlebag or Tour Pak (when I get one) and keep it plugged in to a power point all the time. No wires. No fuss. Just wondering if anyone has given this a try?? If so any issues with your iPod (or phone) staying paired while inside your bag or Tour Pak??

You should be fine. Bluetooth range is about 30 feet. I pair my iPhone with a chatterbox that is mounted on handlebars and then throw phone in saddlebags.

I use the Bluetooth on my iPhone all the time. I have a Sony aftermarket head unit and it works flawless. Just keep the phone in my pocket andom good to go

I pair my droid phone to my kenwood head unit all the time. The only problem is it drains the phone battery fairly fast. Works great though.

Thanks for the input. Battery drain is the main reason I was thinking about keeping it mounted and hooked to a power point all the time.

Look at the Sony MEXBT4000p it's a great head unit, and it has USB so i have all my tunes on a memory stick or i can stream from my phone.

Similar to what I am thinking. Don't really want to stream from my phone but I guess it is a possibility for Pandora as well as using my iPod Touch or my now out of service Droid X.

I use this in my office with a bookshelf stereo. I've tried it on the bike and works great...also cheap and it'll work with your factory radio.

I have a Sony DSXS310BTX with the Ipod tray and found it sounds much better just using the bluetooth streaming. I will at some point buy a cheap ipod and just leave it in the unit but I enjoy Pandora and find it far easier to change channels by the iphone instead of the handle bars controls. I use the handlebar controls for volume or to skip a song.

Is that Sony weather proof?
