Hey guys. Almost done with the winter audio upgrade. I got the ipod interface module from iron cross during the winter and have everything mounted in the fairing, etc. I ran the longer ipod cable back under the tank when I had it off running the amp power and my oil temp wire. My question is where are you guys mounting your actual ipod. Tour pak, the expensive holder in the side saddlebag that Harley sells or where. Just looking for some good ideas. Not crazy about drilling holes in a brand new bike but it is not out of the question.
Just Installed my ipod interface also. Did not go with with the extended cable. I am currently Fabricating a mount that will hold my iPhone/Ipod and Sat radio all in one. I picked up this two bag with center mount from T and T fabrications to use as a platform. Ipod in pic is just velcroed in place for visual. I will be using the Iphone more for pandora and also google directions. But then i'll have option to switch to the AUX port and listen to Sat Radio.

I've never seen an IPOD holder that doesn't look cheesy, especially with that wire going to it............ Everything is accessible through the handlebar controls, so either pick a saddlebag, or tour pack. I ran a lot of my cables to the back of the bike, then up through the rear speaker pods......
Drilled a hole into the tourpack , behind the speaker pods. Not too noticeable..............
I agree, never seen a phone mount that didn't look cheesy until I saw these consoles from Cyclone Custom Corp. I put one on my bike and it looks great, keeps my phone dry, it's padded so no clamps to ruin my phone. Check it out at www.cyclonecustom.com
Like those cyclone consoles. Those are sharp. Pricey but sharp. I agree they look very clean. Thanks GP and that is where I am leaning. Drill a hole in the tour pak behind pods and use a grommet, piece of velcro and done.
hell man you don't even have to do that. Take the existing grommet out where your charging port runs through. Ream out the grommet a tad bit to fit the other cable in there and put it back in.
I use an iPod nano, and put Velcro on the back side of it. I put the other side of the Velcro on the backside of the fairing cap (switch housing). Weatherproof and completely hidden from view, but I can access it any time to add/change my playlists.

You know there is a reason you are a mod................Great idea. Thanks again sir. I need a way for you to show up when I am doing this stuff like the State Farm Insurace people to save me some time..................
