Default Question for Hammock owners

Just purchased a heated hammock. When mounting the rear of the seat is raised about 3 inches off the fender and I have to push it down. Most seats I've owned was not like this. Is this just the way the hammock seat is designed?

Yes, both touring bikes I have had and did a demo seat with the hammock I had to push the rear of the seat down to get the screw in, I believe it is even listed in the directions that this might be the case, it has to do with the way the seat is constructed. hope this helps

mine is not heated, but it went right on. fit right over the hole and screw fit right in, make sure you do not have some wiring holding it up.

Yes mine sits up too,and have to push it down to screw it in. The only issue I had with the Hammock was the speaker pods rubbing, but moving the tp back solved that.

I have the Hammock seat - non-heated - on my 2011 RKC.

Fits nicely right onto the rear fender raised crown where you fasten the screw.

I'd guess that a wire or cable from the "heater" is in the way???

Yes, I have the heated Hammock and mine sits up. Ive checked for wires and nothing is in the way. On my 2010 SG I had the recall side bumps installed under the seat on both sides (can't remember what they were called) so that the rear screw attachment wouldnt dent my rear fender. The two blocks under the seat are what makes my Hammock sit a little higher, but I need the blocks for when I put my stock seat back on so I don't mess with trying to remove them.

My new non heated hammock had to be pushed down to mate with the fender. I did not read the directions if any came.

Spent some time with the seat today. There is nothing under the seat holding it up, the plug and wiring are not a problem. It seems as if the sling in the seat with creates the hammock is pulled so tight that it may be causing the seat to be slightly bowed up. It does push down into place, just not what I expected as I've never had a harley seat that sit so high off the rear fender mount. I also noticed that it fits very tight against the speaker pods.

You will love the seat. Mine also has to be pulled back just a tad. All other seats I've had had to be forced all the way forward. Not the Hammock though.
