Default Raising a Tour-Pak

I would like to raise the tour-pak on my 2012 limited about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. I can easily do this using steel or nylon spacers, stack fender washers, ect. My concern is will I reduce the structural integrity of the tour-pak by lifting it off it's mounting bracket this way. We do travel and use the tour-pak as well as the tour-pak rack. I don't want to weaken things and mess up my tour-pak. I could maybe use a George Anderson relocater plate as I've heard it will raise the tour-pak a little, but that's a rather expensive option just to gain a little height with a tour-pak. What do you think, anyone done this?

Well my tour pak has a metal plate on the inside covering the entire bottom. I can't imagine raising it up would effect it's structural integrity.

As long as whatever you use for spacers has a large enough surface to interface with the tourpack you shouldn't have an issue.

I'd stay away from anything like a bushing or stacked washers as those will not provide much surface area.

Have you considered something like a piece of plywood. Cheap, strong, and perfectly functional. Aesthetically, I'm sure you could finish it in a way that would be acceptable.

I think if you used large washers (Fender washers) you should be fine..
I have never done it but i believe that guys with cop bags (Police Bikes)
have to raise a tour pack to clear the lids on bags.Maybe someone with a cop bike
will chime in...Good Luck!!
(I see 2 black said plywood and i thought of that also...You could use marine grade)

Try the slider for the tour pak. Will raise it about an inch or so. And allow it to slide 4 inches.

I would get some square or rectangular tube stock from a good hardware store. I would think a decent 1 inch aluminum would work well. Cut two pieces the length of your rack and through-bolt the tourpack on, sandwhiching the tube stock between the pak and rack. Obviously you'll need longer hardware. I would use stainless and nyloc nuts. I would also use some sort of rubber gasket between all of the above such as a cut up inner tube. You could also move the pak back a bit if you wanted while you're at it.

It would be best to have something close to the same shape as the bottom mount.
You do not want to have the bolts tightening down without support underneath.

I would use aluminum Bar stock cut to the size of the the bottom crescent block mounts, stack, laminate then drill. Just did it for my detachable. just like stock. A good trick is to use 3m double side tape to position the blocks.
