I have 12" Yaffe's on mine and I'm 5'10". You'll be fine. You should really, really consider painting that inner while it's all apart. I'm changing out my inner now it's super easy and a good painter will charge around $250 or less. I regret not doing it when I did the bars.

I'm leaning toward the 10" Yaffee's for mine. I also like to have my hands behind the fairing and don't like the look of the bars over the fairing. My problem is I also don't like mirrors on the bars.

Is it at all possible to use the stock mirrors? Looking at everyone's pictures, it looks like the stock mirrors could be seen if you move your elbow, arm, or hand. Has anyone tried?

I'm also leaning this way. Really, really want to keep those stock mirrors though. And I'm 6'5" so I may not have a choice but to go to bar mounted mirrors

Z Edge--->Can't help first hand as I have an Ultra so I never had fairing mirrors to begin with. I can say that of all the guys I've read about with with SG's, that went with 10's, NONE of them have said they were able to keep fairing mirrors. I can also say that my mirrors are now a ton easier to use. Oh, and something else I've not heard of but may be helpful: Maybe you could invert some bar mirrors? Might look good and be useful.

Best of luck...

I am 5-10 and have the 13" Arlen Ness. They are very comfortable. I can adjust the angle of the grips and see through to the stock mirrors.

If you don't like the look, I understand, but I put on the the 10" Yaffee MMB on my Ultra. The bars only stick out a little over the batwing and I am using the stock mirrors/ stock location. They have never worked better. I am 6 foot and see great behind me. I don't feel the fairing mounted mirrors would work well. With me I put safety over style. Good luck with your project, Be Safe JIM
