Cruise Control Cable Lash Initialization
Congratulations. I know I have been down that road of doing it the "right" way and the damn thing wouldn't cooperate and work the way it was supposed to.
Tell us how you got it to work.

That's the thing, I didn't do anything special, I just put everything back together and it worked. But the lash initialization wouldn't work as the directions said it would. Maybe it helped that I didn't adjust the cables at all.
Just installed 13" apes in my '07 Ultra. The tech manual states that the Lash is required if cables are replaced. I went thru the Initialization as required and my light NEVER turned green. However, the cruise does engage most of the time, but sometimes doesn't hold. It's about to tick me off. I ride a lot and CC is a necessity. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even text me at 806-663-0116.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the manual for my '07 Ultra says that the lash initialization is only needed if the cable to the cruise module itself is replaced, and not the cables to the grip. We put new throttle cables on when we put the apes on it and had no problem with the cruise control. Just adjusted the proper slack out of the cables and away we went. CC works great!!
