I bought this handle bar mount for my bike because it has a thumb screw and is simple to put on and off. I have put it on for a one day trip, then just take it back off. It is made of plastic and has soft foam that touches the bars. I like it but it is a handle bar mount.

How do you deal with the glare on bright sunny days? Doesn't it make the screen unreadable?

I know this is a tad old, but I was able to mount mine today and go for a ride. It was overcast and I have the same one as TomB posted just above. I could hardly see the screen. I think the plastic cover really hurts seeing it.

I couldn't find a good spot to mount it to either on my bars, so I put it the best place I could. It was at an angle for viewing which didn't help either.

It also seemed like I just couldn't get the adjustment nut tight enough, wanted to move around a lot.

Today I bought something simple called a cell buckle. This is rubber so it takes out any vibration. It mounts in about 30 seconds , with no tools. I did it in the parking lot where I bought it.It worked great. It holds both my I phone or my GPS. it costs 20 bucks from a vendor at the hideaway bar in Cave Creek. www.TheCellBuckle.com

i use the suction cup on the gas lid cover and use a small mini bungee cord as a safety tether. i just wrap it around the gps mount then open the gas cover and place the two ends of the bungee cord inside the cover and close it down and it squishes the cord so it can close and lock. i use the very small diamater bungee it's maybe all of 1/4" dia. works good for me
