I got one years ago and transfered to my new bike and it DOES make those behind you take notice!!! Even when folks are on my ***,, just tap the brakes a little just to activate and they back off....

mine is defective already
Bought a 2001 RK this summer with a BAL. It's about a year old and half of it is not working. It has four LEDs and two of them are not working at all. I took it off to see if I could fix it but it's sealed. Don't have a recete for it. Not sure if I would buy another one at this point.

Bought my 06 RKC used back in October and it had the BAL-1 already installed. It does get those behind you attention and for some reason it seems to make motorists stay further behind you at red lights. When I am stopped for a light I keep an eye in my mirror and when I see a car approaching I pull the front lever if I dont already have it in.

Don't they have a five year warranty? Can't hurt to pick up the phone.
