If I were you, I'd look for a really nice almost new ride.

When I buy a new scooter, I ignore the MSRP, freight, set-up, etc. I tell the sales guy that I am interested only in price. No future discounts, store credits, 1,000 mile service - just the price. If I have a trade, I ask for the bottom dollar price with and without the trade. I have bought my last two bikes from the same salesman, I like to work with him. I tell him that I do not like to haggle, to give me his best price first and I will not counter. I have done my homework and know what I am willing to pay. I tell him I will either take his offer or thank him for his time and leave. Works for me.

In Oklahoma we pay the tax and registration directly to the state after the sale so it is not part of the deal at the dealership.

I've always paid thousands less than MRSP and never any fees. Taxes are more than enough. Sounds like they have you marked already. I go in and leave no doubt I could not care less if I bought a bike. I don't bargin, I just say no without hesitation. But I'll keep coming back just to look so they know I want one, but I'm not going to pay out the nose for one, I'm not even going to discuss it. Eventually they offer a really good deal and I surprise them by saying okay, I'll take it. Works for me.
