You guys seem to know what you are talking about here. My bag is taking something that's old dirty neglected and beat up and making it go. I don't know too much about making them go fast.
This is where you come in. I got an '04 rk with 95" big bore, 211 cam, intake, SE heads w/ releases, V&H big shot duals. here is my dyno. what are they diong wrong or what am I doing wrong? I know a 2-1 exhaust would help but what else?
also, I have been told that I don't even need the releases and that I kind of got hosed.
any comments....
sorry, no there was no additional work done to the heads. these are "off the shelf" se heads.
so the 211 cam is small? I know the stealer recommends the 203 as an upgrade to most. they were hesitant with the 211.
they said I wouldnt see the power till too high of an rpm
These pistons with S/E Performance heads give roughly 10.5:1 CR.
If you were to change to HQ-0039 cams and install a D&D FatCat exhaust, you would dramatically improve the performance of that motor and have a torque curve that looks similar to the one I posted earlier. You may actually have higher HP numbers, but slightly lower Torque than mine due to the flow characteristics and 2" intake valve on the S/E Perf heads.
The 2004 case will require slight clearencing in the camchest for the intake lobes, but that's no biggie. We just did it on a friends 2004 RG.
Just got off the phone with Steve @ GMR. Placed my order for the 98" kit. Once I get it, the bike will be off to R&R Performance in Manchester to have it all put together.
