Easy fix!
Look at the bottom of your foot boards, you will see where you can either thread the holes or place pop rivets to hold a piece of metal. I heard a motorcycle cop say they use angle attached to the boards, and would replace them when worn down - usually at service intervals.
Don't use your toes, Bro.
Do the metal fix and save your boards, ride safe!

You'll get used to the sound. I scrape mine every now and then in higher speed turns. They key is to pick the right speed and line for the curve. I grind the crap out of them in slow speed maneuvering. the boards are cheap on ebay.

I can tell your all full of yourself. You say you have morals and values then you come on here and call people idiots, really? I think you have respect for people that think like you. Now, back to the floorboard scraping.

Thats what I was gonna suggest. we just call it "hangin off". One of the things you wont expect from scraping the floorboards on a touring bikes is when the rear wheel lifts up off the pavement and launches you sideways resulting in a highside. Also Like others have suggested, brake prior to curve, pick your line and then accelerate through it.

Scraping floorboards can be done at <5mph. Surely that kind testosterone fueled death tempting behavior will be the end of us... Yea i do it at faster speeds too, sorry we push our bikes a little bit... Hope we didnt offend you

Give me a break... just ride how you want, and we'll do the same

PS. there's guys more than twice my age that ride just as hard as I do, so leave generations out of this....

If you're old enough to remember "curb feelers" ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHROME-CURB-...-/360410422023 ) you'd know that scraping is just a "warning of eminent danger" ( actually you were just going to scrub the whitewall ) Scraping the boards just means you're getting closer to Mother Nature ... and you might remember the commercial ... It's not nice to fool Mother Nature ...

I know a few guys who's boards are honed to a razor sharpness, mine are only lightly ground, but I'm old.......<shrug> Grindin' a floor board won't hurt the board, but toes are a different story. Boards are easier to replace.

There is a company producing metal skid plates for the boards. I just don't remember who.

How about a set of these? I haven't been selling them since the 60s but they would do the job.

FWIW (strictly my opinion) - If you're scraping on higher speed corners you are going to fast.
