We got my wiring fixed on the throttle. 2 wires were backwards. Now it works great. We sautered the wires together to get rid of the green plug. Now I am waiting for my inner to get back from repaint and put her together and get it was hed for the season. What a relief
When I changed the bars on my 09 Ultra there was a little green plug from the TBW unit that attached to another wire that went down the handlebar into the fairing. I didn't have trouble with it but there were other people that had the plug come unplugged causing no throttle response. They make a TBW sending unit with a longer wire without a plug which would be better than the original.
Your unit may already have the longer wire but if not, that plug could cause the problem. Unfortunately, you'll have to pull the wires back and connect the plug and secure it so it doesn't happen again.
Yep, the little green plug is a POS. Mine fell apart and I cut it out and soldered the wires together because I didn't trust it.

+1 ..I just did 578's also..green plug broke, plus it takes up too much room. I kept the terminals intact, then heat shrinked for a tight holding fit, then used a second layer of shrink to provide more pressure
Yes I do not know the reason for the little green plug. Why can't it come without it from the factory? Yes my inner is still going through the re paint job so when its done put it back together and I'm done.
