From a functionality standpoint, they do light up the night. I have had problems seeing at night after eye surgery and the Harley LED Headlights (I had them on my Limited and now have them on my RGU) make all the difference for me.

Did not have LEDs on my Strret Glide, and thought the price was outrageous. Decided to put the Daymakers on my FLTRU - and I will never use conventional lighting again. It's not just about how bright they are. I like how wide the pattern is, lighting up the shoulders of the road and beyond so I can see critters. I'm impressed.

Definitely going to do an LED at some point, probably the Trucklite phase 7. I just can't justify over $500 for the HD one.

You do not say if you are talking about LED lights. If you are, they will be LESS noticable during the daytime. I am using the Phase 7, and at night they are great. In the daytime, from some angles you cannot see them at all.

I do a lot of night riding, so I love 'em, just sharing my experience.

2012 FLHX. Can someone explain in a little more detail the "Truck Lights sticking out farther than stock" issue? I have the visor style trim ring and would like to keep it. Any idea if this would still be possible?

i have the visor too. the P7 will appear to stick out a bit less than the 6 bcuase of the lense design.

buy it, slap it in, and put your trim ring back on!

Ok, I'm convinced.

One question, are the HD and/or TL plug and play (I.e. direct replacement of the stock lights)?
