Well I bit the bullet and ordered me a set of Standard 944's for my Streetglide. Hope they are all what everybody says they are. Will find out shortly.

I have a 2011 RK weigh 280 ils have fitted a King Tour Pak, Ultimate Seats and a heap of other stuff and was set on getting a set of 13" HD Progressive I also always carry a bit of gear and sometimes a wife, who only weighs in at 118lbs wringing wet. I have the gas Mono Shocks sitting at my dealers but have yet to have them fitted.
My question is what model shock would be the best replacement for the 440HD or should I just stick with getting a set of 440's if still available.
Thanks....By the way Kiwi Rider but I do love riding the States and canada roads

The 440's have been replaced by 444's so those might be the ones to consider. Haven't read yet were anyone replaced 440's with 444's so no idea on direct comparisons? I personally snagged a nice used set of 440's so hopefully I'm set. If 440's can be had for a nice close out price, why not? If similarly priced as the 444's, I'd go that route. Good luck in your search...

I just took my bike in and they are putting on monotubes on my 2011 street glide. When I get it back I will be ordering the 944. I cant take the air shock anymore. From all I have read over the last 8 months I am going with the 944.

I just ordered the 944's with the HD - I'm 260lbs (trying to get back to 240 after the winter) and ride with saddle bags and a 120 lb wife quite a bit of the time on my 2009 Road King. We're riding down to Gowanda Harley in NY from Ontario this Saturday and I'll probably leave the stock shocks in the garbage and not even take them back with me. It should work out nicely from everything I'm hearing here.

Gowanda Harley recommneded and recently installed 430's on my 03 EG Standard. I ride two up most of the time with my bags 3/4 full or better.
Me 187 wife 125. The tech at Progessive said they should work fine.
So far a huge improvement. My old shocks were pretty blown out. Gowanda went by the load rating on the bike which is 827 lbs. so I am not even close.
To many choices.

I put the 944's on my EG last year and the mono tubes, the wife is mad that I waited 8 years and 70k to upgrade the suspension now even with a full load on, unless I hit a bad pot hole, there is no bottoming out and when we do hit a bump she doesn't come off the seat. I have the 944's HD with 2 clips in the mono tubes and it is just right for us, I'm 240 and she is 165 give or take a pound, I'm to old to go thru another divorce,

Default 944 shocks

Bolted a set on my 2010 flhx and am disappointed. They ride harsh ( I weigh 200 lbs , solo rider) and yes the sag is adjusted right. My father has a set of 13 inch air shocks from an ultra on his 2014 flhx and it rides much nicer than mine with the expensive 944.
