I had considered the lowering kits available but from what I gathered they had or most all had experienced the bottom smack. I went with what I like and had experience with on previous HD model bikes to appreciable success and comfort, there are some others may feel they need to convince you what is best for you. Do what you like, your bike, you ride it and forum sponsor or no.....I used what I thought was best for me. I do not mind what shock you use but use what YOU want to use.

I went by my local HD dealer and they said they won't fit. They looked the part number up and it was different. I guess I'll have some 412's for sale

put em up in the hdf classifieds and call howard at motorcycle metal

Well guess what, they fit fine and the ride is so much better than the stock air shocks and an inch lower....

They wanted to sell you the "upgrade" set of shocks made by HD I bet. I have bumped mine up to the 3rd notch since riding two-up mostly. I like mine. Glad you like what you decided was your best way to go.
