Dyno numbers are just numbers. You can go to two or three different dynos and none will be the same. As long as your happy, then all is great!!!!

I just wanted more power where I needed it for my two-up interstate riding and for passing. Do these cams work? Ask the Illinois State Trooper who surprisingly let me off with a verbal warning yesterday. He was second in a line of three cars yesterday on a two-lane road and I didn't see him there-unmarked car. I was up over 90 mph with just a throttle twist from 60 mph in seconds. He said he was unable to lock onto me and clock me and never had a driver of any vehicle pass him like that. I offered to tell him how fast but he declined. Good cop, good cam.
Great post! You should submit this to H-D; if they had any sense, they would use it in the SE parts catalog.

I think they should have this cam as stock cams on the big touring bikes but then no extra dough could be made. I guess I see why they wouldn't but I would have paid $350-$400 more for the bike. I mean if you are on the line installing cams in the motor doesn't matter which ones you stick in and if they added correct size pushrods, hey-great!! But....to me it was worth the change too.

Hey if it runs the way that you want, then no worries. Just ride the hell out of it! I went with the SE-204 cam in my 96".

I installed 48's in my 103. No dyno numbers. Also installed 54's in buddys 103. I'm not sure which has the best numbers but the bike with the 48's has more fun factor. Just saying.

No it doesnt. You either didnt ride the one with the 54's or you trying to justify spending the same money for less product. I can assure you that the 54 has the best numbers and the most fun factor. Just sayin...

The 48h has more torque down low, its intake closing is 29* on par with all the torque monsters, i.e.:

S&S 551 ( intake close) of 19*
RED SHIFT 525 18*
TW 222 34*
SE 255 25*

The 57h has an intake close of 38* and the 54h, 42*. So in the same motor, all things the same, you have to wind it up a little more to get into the torque band. I would think you should see max torque come on about 2500 and go to 5000 rpm. It would be nice to see a dyno sheet. A lift of 548 means its easy on the drive train, and the 222/238 duration isn't so much you got be wide open to make power. Dyno tuners mean alot, I went to a local one and he sucked, then I went to DR DYNO when I was in Laconia and it was like night and day. Ride it and see how it is. Torque down low is the way to go...

I did both builds myself and have ridden each bike. Not yet had opportunity to drag to see who comes in first on race day. I have had the opportunity to compare each bike from point A to point B shifting each bike at exactly 5K. The bike with the 48's crossed point B at 80mph while the bike with the 54's was less than 75mph at the same point. This was on an approx. 3% upgrade. The 54's may very well surpass the 48's in other instances. I certainly expect the 54's to produce better dyno numbers. If I were disappointed with my build, I would just change out the cams. I do my own labor and cams are not that expensive. I'm not trying to sell one over the other. My last build was a 95 inch softail with Andrews 37's and Big Boyz ported heads, etc. I know what a good running bike feels like. I wanted my touring bike to have more low end torque. I can just hop onto my softail when I want to stretch out ther rpms a little more. Just reporting my experience. Your mileage may vary.
