I bought a used rc components wheel. Was told it was off an 09 SG but it has 1 inch bearings. Will a 1 inch axle fit my bike or can I or should I swap the 1 inch bearings for 25mm? Will I need different spacers? The 25mm are narrower correct?
Thanks for any advise
I just did something similar but I went the other way. I have a 2007 RKC and I bought a wheel with 25mm bearings and I changed out my 1 inch axle to the 25mm axle. I bought these spacers:
I got it figured out after some measuring. The RC wheel uses a narrower 1" bearing then stock harley 1". It's actually 15mm same as the stock 25mm bearing so all I need to do is swap out to stock 25mm bearings. I'm glad because if it was the wider 1" bearing that would have been a nightmare for me with spacers using the narrower bearing. So next question is there a better bearing than the OEM bearing?
Harley sell wheel installation kits with bearings, necessary spacer and other parts, so that custom wheels can be installed on a wide range of bikes. Far easier to install the same bearings as your stock wheels, in other words 25mm.
