So my birthday is tomorrow and I decided I wanted to go for a ride today (snow expected tomorrow). Put on the cold weather gear looked at the temp (little below 30) and hit the road for a couple of hours. The snow gave me a little trouble in my driveway to get out and then when I got back, but she is safe now back in the garage and I got another ride this week. win for the good guys.
That being said, what is the coldest you will ride in? I was really comfortable in the 20's and think I might be able to go a little lower.
When I lived in Toronto, we used to do a New Years Day ride... usually OK but you have to watch for ice on the inside of right turns. ( and a good flush of salt or deicing chemicals off of the bike is a must)
i live in PHX now and am a fair weather rider.
I only ride in crap weather if i have to, when touring if the day calls for heavy wide-spread rain...I'll take a day to do laundry and read a book, rather than suck dirty spray from traffic.

My bike stays in heated hibernation until the coast is clear of Snow, Salt, Sand, & cold temps! I just don't dig taking my $30K + machine out in those type of elements!
I know the feeling. I got home from work on Friday and hadn't ridding my new bike since I bought it in January. It was 35 degrees and snow in the forcast for Saturday. I figured it was now or never and went for a little ride. It wasnt a long ride as I didnt have much time but it was great therapy to get out on it!
I took it out down to the mid 20's in the fall. The ground and roads are so cold here they will turn black ice very quickly and after a buddy put his down one morning I decided that 32 was the cut. Now I am just waiting for the roads to clear up. Looking like April right now. We hit 40 one day and it started melting and now we are back in the teens and single digits. It just won't stop, and I can't hardly wait to get out.
Being in central Florida, we don't have the snow issue but I usually don't go out when it goes below 40 degrees. I just don't have the cold weather gear to deal with it but that being said, I usually get out at least once a week all year round because it is usually warmer than that.
