How to stop muffler "farts"

How to stop muffler "farts"
Good morning my friends. I call them muffler farts. Those anoying little exhaust gas burps that escape from around where your mufflers clamp to the exhaust pipe. I've tightened the crap out of the clamp, but to no avail. Wondering if I need to take a die grinder and remove some of the weld bead from inside the muffler to slide the exhaust pipe further into the muffler? Any remedies out ther for this?? Thanks in advance for your replies.

get a muffler expander from harbor freight. make sure the muffler inlet is round, and make sure that the header outlet is round. then a thin coating of the permatex, let it cure, then you shouldn't have any problems.
also, the torca clamps on those are supposed to be a 'one time' use also.

Don't waste your money on harbor fright tail pope expanders. I broke two of them trying to flare out some mild steel tube from napa when I broomsticked my slip ons. The copper permatex probably would do it...
