Installed the 8" Custom Dynamics Plasma rods over the weekend.
I used the Brake/Turn configuration. Didn't want the run lights.
Wiring was as easy as, install Posi Locks on the 2 purple wires to the right of the tri-bar Street Glide Facia (throttle side). Connect red wire to posi lock and both black wires from each Plasma Rod to the black wire.
Mounted the plasma rods with the 1/4 Round method as seen in other posts.
Extremely bright. In the sunlight it definitely shows how dim the stock dual light bar is.
If you're afraid of the technical difficulties, don't be!
Thanks for the review, mine finally go on this week so I'm glad to hear they are good in bright daylight. I am also adding CD LED turn signals. BTW, great looking bike. How do you like the handle bars?
Thanks, They're PYO 12" bars. I'm 6'1 and the stock bars destroyed my shoulders. The bars are the perfect height for me with my seat combined with height. Super comfortable and just high enough to make the fairing blow the air over my hands.
FYI, if using the lights in Brake/Turn configuration means you don't need the PDC's. The first Gal I talked to at CD said I needed them. Called again on Friday to double check my gameplan and she said just wire them right in. The circuitry in tri-bar light will take care of it.
