The wife was complaining about the stock street glide seat. Over the weekend I bought a mustang 1 piece ultra touring seat. It is ugly as hell but she loves it. It did move me forward a bit though as well as a bit lower. I can deal with that as my wife was very unhappy with the stock seat, but the stock one was fine for me.

I can't believe you ever asked her to sit on the darned thing, let alone ride on it! When you ride solo you can sit on what you like, but when the most important passenger in the world comes along, her seat had better be COMFORTABLE! Doesn't matter what it looks like.....
What did you give for it and hows the comfort? Ive got the super solo and its rather stiff, but saddle makers say thats a good thing. My **** does not agree
I use my stock seat for solo riding, when the wife goes with I throw on the Sundowner seat. I use the knurled thumb screw for the seat to make it quick & easy to switch out. Kinda the best of both worlds. Everyone asks about the thumb screw coming loose. I keep a close eye on it, to the point its habit now for me to check the tightness whenever I walk by the bike. Its never come loose.
I hope to get a nice solo seat soon.
BTW...weird thing, I sit about an inch higher in the Sundowner, I like the stock position better, so I might get it cut down.

I agree. I bought a used solo w/ backrest and I'm toast after 100 miles. My butt pays for it for days after a small trip. That's why it's always good to buy these spec seats used then you won't take such a bath when you go to sell again.
