Not a huge issue so I hesitated to post but... Bike will idle normally most times but occasionally will jump 200 rpm. So I have it set to 975 rpm (via power vision) and after a half hour ride, occasionally the idle will settle out around 1150-1200. Shutting down and restarting will reset back to 975. Doesn't happen all the time. Happened before the powervision and continues.. Any ideas? TPS? Bike has 3000 miles.
If you have a touring model..... Turn the bike off using the key switch instead of the run/stop switch and you should be good. What happens is the ECM 'sees' idle as what the very last input from the throttle is and jumps up because of that imperceptible amount of throttle twist. Using the key switch REMOVES our hands from the throttle before shut down and fixes this completely.
On a bagger... there is no idol(sic) air controller, no TPS adjuster screw, etc. It's ALL software driven by the throttle inputs and the ECM and those 'power' the stepper motor that turns the blade inside of the throttle body. All of the functions from a cable bike are now handled with software that mimics those functions.

I had a idle issue after a bunch of mods, would jump around 900-1200 rpm at idle. Turned out to be the tune, it was running too rich. You can try taking some fuel out around those rpm ranges

Thanks. It is a pretty rich tune down low to eliminate decel popping. Could be the issue but I thought it was happening prior. No harm to try taking a bit out to see if it helps

I tried the switch trick, 4 off, 4 on. it was really baffling to me too. especially since the tune i got from Fuel moto already had -15 fuel in the idle range. When i took it to my tuner he had to drop it to around -20. Hope you figure it out.
