2011 electraglide, 20,000 miles, I started my bike this morning and idle jump to about 2000 rpm on the way home from work got off freeway and I had to keep reving it so it wouldn't die, anyone else have this problem or know what it might be.
Thanks,
Steve
I have had some high idle concerns, in the past anyway- to reset the throttle position sensor;
with RIGHT HAND, turn on ign. switch.
let pump prime, then switch off.
repeat 4 more times.
that resets the TPS.
it is possible that if you are using the kill switch that your hand is resting on the throttle as you switch the motor off.
I am now in the habit of using the ign switch with right hand to avoid spurious inputs.
pt 2.) this could also be corrosion of the contacts on the servo motor plug on teh throttle body ( 7 oclock as you look at the intake).
pull the plug, clean the contacts and reinsert.
some use dielectric grease to keep moisture out.
I do not as it can also trap moisture in...
or if you have a tuner, look there

hey does anybody know if that tps reset works on my "07 (has throttle cable, not throttle by wire)?? I have noticed a few times lately that my idle wouldn't drop down to idle for over an hour, then it will get into a cycle of wanting to stall at a stop light if I do not feather the throttle. I put a little sea foam in the tank just for grins,....but that was before the idle wouldn't drop..it seems to be intermittent. thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas.

I believe your problem is going to be a dirty IAC. Mine does the same thing I just buy a can of CRC mass flow sensor spray cleaner with a 45 or a 90 deg. straw & with your ign. switch on flip your on - off switch 4-5 times while spraying your IAC be sure to use a clean lint free towel in the throttle body to catch the dirt. This a annual or bi annual thing to clean for me or you can just buy a new one every time about $ 65.00. Good luck!
