Default solder throttle wire or not

back in 09 it was thought to be a big no no to cut and solder the drive by wire throttle wires to eliminate the blue clip or extend the wires.so,I see where some are doing this now so does this mean you can do this with no problems?

I cut and and solder the wires parallel to each other than shrink wrap them..never had an issue...also I dont trust the blue clips..but you are not suppose to solder 02 sensor wires ..

I was scared to do it too so I used a marine grade shrink wrap over the green connector and regular shrink wrap over the rest of the wires and snaked em thru. No throttle. So I pulled em out thinkin the connector pulled apart. Nope. The marine grade shrink wrap held it just fine. Found a skint wire so I decided to hardwire it. Snaked that harness thru the bars and still no throttle. Turns out I was a victim of my own mistake. After the first harness didn't work, instead of taking the wires out of the plug on the end like I had done the first time, I just cut it and left me about a 6" tail to solder to. Little did I know that I had put the pins in the wrong place the first go round. Long story short...yes you can solder them. I don't care who tells you any different. And the throttle control isn't as delicate as people make out either. After the way I had to yank on mine to get it and the harness out I just knew it would be trashed. No problems with it at all and no throttle lag either.

While I decided to just buy a SE TBW I don't see any issue with soldering the stock one other than a little extra bulk. The extra bulk was my concern with my bars but some bars I wouldn't of been worried about.
