Default Comfort profile saddlebag guards?

My dilemma: My wife is SHORT, and the stock saddlebag guards on my 2013 Ultra Ltd catch the back of her legs constantly - not great on longer rides. I see that the MoCo offers a different set, p/n#49179-09, but have never seen a set in person, nor do I know anyone who uses them. Have any of you used them? Do they offer a significant difference in comfort for the passenger? Thanks for your input.

yes they will help a lot if the passenger is short. The cut and angle of them stops them from hittin the back of the legs. But most accessories for the saddlebag guards from HD will not work with them ie cup holders etc

Default Thanks

Thanks for the reply! Not concerned about cupholders as the FLSTCi we had previous didn't have provisions, either. They are on order now so I don't have to hear any more whining lol.

My wife is short also. She would only sit on bikes without the guards. There are no guards on the Road Glide and Street Glide. So I wound up with the RG after a 3 day rental trial.
I had to put the leather covers on my lids cuz my shorty nicks them every time with her boots. But she is happy. And me too.

My wife is short too; 5' on a good day. I didn't change out the guards but I did buy the reduced reach floor board mounts. These bring her feet up about 2.5" and allow her to have a more natural seating position. With the stock floor board mounts she was sort of slouching forward and down to reach the boards, and the back of her calves were hitting the guards. All is good now.

The low profile guards will work fine for your wife if she's in the 5'-5'2 range.......They work for my wife that is.....

raising the floorboard may provide relief to your wallet as well as her calves.

Heres a link to some photos. They match the RKC saddlebags profile better than the stock ones, and they don't rub on the wifes legs. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ebag-bars.html

I have an '07 Ultra and my wife had the same issue. I raised the floor boards to the upper level and took the saddlebag guards off (installed saddlebag support kit), opting for a clean look which I like better. Now we're both happy.
