2013 sg/fuel gauge

Ive only been really low once with the bike. Light came on. Checked the miles left and it still said about 40 or 50. Im pretty sure 100 is way too much but dont know why that would happen. Maybe the computer was still adjusting.

the fuel gauge is an analog float device...it does not pull data from the speedo/odometer etc.
just a float, kinda like your toilet has.
you'll get used to it and what your range really is based on your riding style and any work done to your bike...some of us get 45 MPG, some get 30 MPG.
just keep track of how much gas it takes at each stop and how far you have gone.
My range is about 250 miles when touring...but I'm thinking gas more like 180~200 miles.
the gas acts as a cooling agent for the fuel pump, a low tank can result in fuel pump wear.
same as in my EFI cars and trucks.
when the light comes on...stop for gas!
