Yep, went from a 2002 1200 Sporty to my 2012 EGC and love it! Rode everything else for over 40 yrs but this or one more will be my last ride.......didn't know they were going to stop making the EGC with the '13 model.........that kinda sux!
As usual, there are no right and wrong answers. I bought the EGC because I didn't want:
- lowers
- two tone paint
- tour pack taillights
- CB
- heated grips
My EGC came with cruise, ABS, rear speakers/stereo upgrade and security system. I added a Custom Dynamics LED strip to the tour pack (and a bunch of other stuff, of course) and have everything I need or want in a bike that is "cleaner looking" to me vs. an ultra limited or ultra classic EG.
I have a 2008 EGC and love it. Got it with Cruise and ABS. Added a tour pack rack to have enough room for all my stuff, fork baffle and soft lowers for cold days. I have exactly what I want with no extras.
I don't ride with other people very often, but when I do, we use FRS based radios.
I think the EGC is the best value of the Harley tourers.
Road Kings rule, Amsoil is the best oil, 16" apes are cool and Black is the fastest color.
You will like the EGC they are all nice it boils down to what serves you the best. Happy 4th everybody ride safe.......
