You're definitely lucky. Could have been much worse. Out here, you really need to pay attention to critters out and about. Sunday I saw a mature cow Moose wondering whether she should cross the road or not. I slowed way down, and once next to her just rolled by holding the clutch in so as not to frighten her, and send her into a charge. The things you see are pretty incredible. Elk, deer, turkey, big horn sheep, bear, coyote, and of course dogs and cows are most prevalent out here.

My bro hit an elk in Oregon on his new bike. My Bro, his girlfriend and the Elk were OK but the bike not so much. Another friend hit a goat in Oklahoma. The bike was totaled, he was in bad shape and almost slid under an oncoming cage. The goat didn't make it
