Info on removing read speaker pods?

I took them off my 07 but ride solo so no need for passenger controls. Warning though. You'll be left with 6 HUGE holes. I found some hole plugs that almost fit but haven't found any that really fit.

That and all the wires/harnesses. What did you do with those?

That's a thought. What I was thinking was to "shrink" the pods so that they're just big enough for the audio controls. I'm thinking a piece of plywood, padded and covered with black vinyl with cutouts for the controls. I would do not want to lose the passenger controls for the helmet plug. If I do remove the speakers and keep the helmet plug, I think I'll have to wire a resistor to the now unused speaker connections (2 ohm?). I seem to remember from my electronic days, that there should be some resistance or you risk amp damage.

I know that the speakers are 2 Ohm but I can't tell you anything else about the system ( Thomas Edison and I aren't very tight ) ... I know that Ultra Nuts and Glacier Pearl are very knowledgeable on the radios and amps ... Check over in the audio section, you just might find someone who's done what you're trying. Good Lucl.
