I think I may have the world record for slowness. I reused the stock pushrods, which adds 2-3 hours to the job, and it still took me a full day and a bit more to do it. I double-checked everything, kept a log to make sure I did everything, and didn't get in a hurry--basically the same strategy you used. The second job I did on a friend's 2009 SG (with his help) went a bit quicker as I recall, mostly because the exhaust system was easier to deal with. The stock exhaust on my 2007 is a PITA to re-install where everything fits properly.
My dealer quoted me six hours with adjustable pushrods. If you do a cam job every week or two I can see how you could do it this quickly.

Great! The job was much easier than I expected. I think the key to a smooth install is getting all the proper tools together and do plenty of reading/watching videos. I did this and was not surprised by anything when I got into the motor.
